Conservas Antonio Pérez Lafuente has paid a heartfelt tribute to two of its most beloved employees, Mª Josefa and Mª Jesús, who, after five decades of dedication and commitment to the family business, now begin their well-deserved retirement.

Both, born in 1960, joined the cannery as teenagers: Mª Josefa in September 1974 and Mª Jesús one year later, in 1975. At that time, only 14 and 15 years old, they had to be accompanied by their parents to sign their contracts. This early start, marked by the responsibility of supporting their families, reflects the effort and sacrifice of an entire generation.

Since then, their professional lives have been continuously linked to the company, contributing experience, commitment, and know-how for 50 years. Their work has been a key part of the growth and evolution of the cannery, which today boasts more than a century of history transforming seafood through traditional methods.
As a token of gratitude, management presented them with the Silver Camellia, the recognition that Conservas Antonio Pérez Lafuente awards its employees upon retirement.

This symbol represents not only gratitude for their decades of dedication but also respect for those who helped build the company’s legacy.

Mª Josefa and Mª Jesús embody the spirit of the cannery: artisanal tradition, commitment to quality, and the passing on of knowledge across generations. Their careers join those of many colleagues who, with effort and loyalty, have ensured that the company preserves its essence and values for over 100 years.

With this tribute, Conservas Antonio Pérez Lafuente reaffirms its commitment to the people who are part of its history, while continuing to promote responsible fishing and eco-friendly processes that guarantee a sustainable future for generations to come.
